Bob Flaws, L.Ac.


Bob Flaws is one of the world’s most famous writers, translators, teachers, and practioners of Chinese medicine. He is author, translator, and/or editor of 100 books and several hundreds of published articles on all aspects of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Having practiced this medicine for 30 years, Bob has taught at scores of colleges and conferences around the world.  He is known for the clarity and insight he brings to the study and practice of Chinese medicine.

Bob Flaws began his study of acupuncture/ Chinese medicine in 1978 at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (yin-yang, five phase, qi, channels and network vessels) in Boulder, CO. In 1979, he studied acupuncture and moxibustion with the late Eric (Xi-yu) Tao of Denver. Studied at the Shanghai College (now University) of Chinese Medicine in 1982 (acupuncture-moxibustion), 1983 (tuina), and 1985 (Chinese herbal medicine.) Founded Blue Poppy Press in 1982. Began studying medical Chinese in 1986.  Now devoted to translation, writing, teaching and other non-Chinese medical pursuits.
