Dr. Unschuld heads the Institute for the History of Medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich. He holds a master of public health and also earned a doctorate in Sinology. For several years he taught at the School of Hygiene and Public Health at the John Hopkins University, Baltimore. His areas of expertise include the history of medicine in Europe and China, medical ethics and public health.
